When I worked there... IMO the kitchens should have been shut down for professional cleaning, upgrades and inspection. Cooks regularly violated basic safe food preparation standards and practices. Management refused to act, and was professionally subpar, at best. Coverups of unethical and even criminal activities were part of my experience. The "Christian Values" marketing ploy here seemed a hoax, top down. Corporate did not care. If this is a 4*-rated facility, then God help middle America.

I worked in the kitchen for about a week received almost no training and witnessed horrible treatment of some of the residents some of the workers couldn’t even be bothered to heat up the soup they’re sitting up to the room please don’t send your family here if you love them there is no training and no standards And breaks are often overlooked meaning you don’t get one. NOT WORTH THE PRICE! Management has done nothing to make any positive changes. Definitely the most stressful place I’ve ever worked.

Maybe the State and County need to visit NHC Assisted Living in Farragut and crack the whip. A few residents say they’d like to mutiny. Overall staffing so thin some residents claim their calls for assistance have gone unanswered. Facilities and management unresponsive to building safety concerns. Room service trays piled up in laundry rooms, hours after meals. Cooks quit soon after they start. For awhile the dishwasher didn’t work and the glasses were so filmed you couldn’t tell if they were clean or not. Salt shakers so moist the salt is a solid and doesn’t pour. Drinks that can spoil are set out well ahead of resident arrivals to meals. Cleaning spray bottles left in the dining hall near condiment shelves. A resident recently served PB&J on moldly bread. At times no bacon, hamburgers, real eggs, tomato soup, butter or green beans while management soothes residents that the kitchen can always go to the store (an Ingles is less than 1 mile away). This is July 2022, well beyond most of the pandemic food supply chain issues. Either food isn’t ordered, the budget has been severely cut, or the food supplier contract should be terminated. The kitchen has been in disarray for months and getting worse. There are some caring employees and compassion goes out to the RAs and kitchen wait staff, caught in the middle. Good ones don’t stay and it’s a constantly revolving door. They say management is difficult and they can make more money and work shorter shifts at McDonalds. They say the place and food used to really be something. Residents now pay top dollar and the facility struggles to deliver bare necessities. Safe to say residents won’t see a rate cut to match the service-levels provided.
