Zero star rating due to the services of Sean Cushman who is the optometrist related to this institute and his assistants. Rating is given from personal experiences in regards to the poor handling of medical and customer care given to a family member. There were medical malpractice miscalculations resulting in sudden blindness and a distorted visual appearance along with the traumatizing treatment of client in regards to their customer care. Currently working with The Eye Institute Of Utah which has made it fairly difficult to resolve; from the initial dismissal of customer claims, although evidence was provided to show validity, to the withholding of patient medical records upon request. The situation as a whole has not followed what was believed to be the correct protocol for this Institute. My family member and I hope that the resolution for this problem will be short coming along with the change our of unfavorable viewpoint of this institution.

What a difference from all other eye specialists I’ve seen! Professional and knowledgeable all the way! Every staff member from when I entered until I left was sincerely polite, caring and helpful. I didn’t wait long in the very clean and comfortable waiting room. All tests were quickly done right there. Dr Bretz explained my tests by showing me the scan and explaining what they meant and her suggested course of action. Seeing the scan was very important to me to really understand what was going on with my vision instead of someone just talking at me. I have glaucoma and defects from having RK incisions 30 years ago. So relieved to finally feel comfortable with my Dr and feel confident im in the right place.

Always a very good experience when I go to the Eye Institute.

I also have Humana Gold Plus insurance, and completed cataract surgery about 6 weeks ago at the Eye Institute of Utah.
Hi Cathy, diabetes on its own does not disqualify you from LASIK. If your blood sugars and well controlled and you are otherwise a good candidate for LASIK, you may qualify. Give us a call at (801) 266-8883 and we'd be happy to help you setup a consultation!
That's the policy I have and they accepted it just fine.
Hi Sandi, since we cannot discuss your medical situation over the internet, please call our office directly at (888) 611-0070 and someone from trained medical team can discuss your symptoms and further assist you!
Hi Ivy, we recommend you contact the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. They have pediatric ophthalmologists and can further assist you!
