My father had a mass removed from his colon and they didn't have a hospital bed for him afterwards. We also had our first baby there who was healthy and we're invited not once but twice to a bereavement ceremony for the loss of our child! Billion dollar organization and they are run like a black market organ operation. I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemies!

Worst ER experience in my life. I’ve been dealing with debilitating menstrual pains and heavy bleeding. When I went in they didn’t seem concerned at all. The CNP and Doctor both made me feel completely stupid. The CNP explained to me what a period is and why they can hurt. I asked to speak to a OB but that never happened and when I asked to be admitted I was told “I’m not going to admit you for a period” and if I needed “comfort” to get a hotel since I live 4 hours away. I have never felt more stupid and guilty for being in pain.

I can't say enough about my positive care at Avera McKennan! When my ambulance pulled in, I was taken to a room in the ER and examined. When I asked to use the restroom the ER nurse had the foresight to grab an urine sample in case they needed one later so I wouldn't have to get up. After surgery a day later, the EXTREMELY AWESOME RN that discharged me took me down to the pharmacy to get all my meds so I wouldn't have to stop to fill them at 5:00 on a holiday weekend. All the staff was so kind to me but Andrea in 1E was TOTALLY AMAZING!

I have never been treated so well in all of my 75 years. Dr. Drexler has to be one of the kindest, knowledgeable and gentle humans on earth. My entire experience has been one of working with a fine well-oiled machine. Bless you for wonderful work.
