Clean and well-managed.

Lazy. If you are not open till 4pm, don’t advertise that you’re open till 4pm. I got there clearly several minutes before closing. “Oh, we always close five minutes early. It’s on the little sign at the back, did you see the sign at the back?”

The recycling center itself is great. But at the beginning of the pandemic Saturday hours were eliminated, ostensibly because of COVID-19 (?) and have never returned. That's a huge -1 for people that work, especially outside Lancaster, during the day. If it's a budgetary constraint issue, why not forgo one week day in favor of Saturday?

Friendly workers and very straight forward sorting with large bins.

What do you do with old air conditioners
We have 25 gallon recycle cans or 32 gallon recycle carts available at no charge for City residents.
We currently do not volunteer opportunities The recyclable commodities that are collected at the recycling drop off center are sold to a recycling processor. .
Our Recycling Drop Off Center is free to drop off!
I would check with one of the local metal recyclers like Lancaster Salvage or Full Circle Recycling. That is not something we collect.
You can get them at the New Hollad Avenue Recycling Center in the old firehouse. I already found out. But thank you. They're free there too
They do not. Cardboard and paper only.
Yes, I think so. The large bin outside is for cans, glass and plastic bottles that have a neck.
We are working in a solution! Stay tuned and thank you for your patience.
You do not need to be a Lancaster County resident. All are welcome!
Computers are not accepted at this location. LCSWMA at 1299 Harrisburg Pike has the household hazardous waste facility. www.lcswma.org.
The attendants are very helpful. Don't hesitate to chat with them if you have any questions.
They will take plastic water bottles. Some stores that recycle plastic grocery bags will also take plastic packaging. The Dart Plant on Pitney Rd. takes clean styrofoam in a tan dumpster next to the road ...😊
They can give you little orange bags to collect until you have a bag full to bring in!
What about microwave that no longer works
We do not accept old mattresses at this location.

Depending on your waste hauler, an old lawnmower can be taken with the trash. Make sure you empty all of the gas and oil out of the engine. You may also be able to take it to local metal recycler like Full Circle Recycling or Lancaster Salvage.
We do not pay for materials. This is a voluntary drop off. There are metal recyclers in the area that include Full Circle Recycling and Lancaster Salvage.
