A picturesque area on the outskirts of town where one can go on a walk and enjoy the beautiful views.

This is a good 2 mile walk with some impressive views of the salt lake plains, great place for fotography strongly recommend to come during sunset or sunrise time to get the best light. Lots of information around the walk path with 2 main shaded stops. There are benches around the path to stop and absorb the astonishing views. Good for kids, people with disabilities, altough I will not recommend letting toddlers unattended or walk by themselves as there are no guardrails and there is water all around the walkpath. Here is some additional info: Free parking Wooden path, good for strollers, wheelchair Restrooms available at the parking lot No entrance fee No dogs No bike No drones Videos surveillance at all times No electric or motor vehicles Open year round and good to visit any time during the year

It's. Beautiful little walk, and the tower is such a fun place to watch the sunset. Just make sure you bring your bug spray.

Nathan Kemp | Oct 9, 2020

It is believed that playing an oboe at this particular location could cause a rift in the space-time continuum, leading to the inevitable implosion of the universe. In other words: use your best judgement.

Liberty Reimschussel | Oct 10, 2019

No, it's a big marsh. It's quite a ways to the actual lake and there's no trail or open waterway from this point.

Is there a time of year that is the best to visit?

Ramona Christensen | Oct 10, 2019
E R | Oct 10, 2019

I love visiting in the summer and autumn. Many of the birds start migrating back to the area in the spring, but the plants are still dead looking then, as opposed to being more lush and alive. Just make sure you bring bug spray because mosquitoes like the swampy area.

Can you camp here?

Bob Peck | Oct 10, 2019
Emerson Martin | Oct 10, 2019

No camping

When can I safely visit without getting eaten by mosquitos?

Mosquito population depends on the time of year and the air current. Usually it is not bad. But wear long sleeves in case. I have never been bitten, but I know it can be a problem at times.
