Googled “top places to eat in salt lake” this restaurant was on so many lists that I couldn’t not try it out. Got there at 630 for dinner. They told me they are fully booked and wouldn’t have anything until 730. It was closer to 8 when we actually got seated. Let me tell you that it was worth the wait. When we were seated I quickly realized there was a phot of Guy Fieri from triple D. This explains the long wait times and the huge popularity of the place. Reviews said the norteña was a must so I ordered that. The table ordered guacamole, enchiladas, and tacos. This dish was something I’ve never experienced before. I can’t put into words how good this was. Everyone at the table ended up eating my meal that’s how good it was. The other meals were incredible as well, I got to taste test them all. The freshest ingredients were used and everything was cooked to order. Easily the best restaurant I’ve eaten at recently.

Friendly folks and decent margaritas! Mole is amazing! Quesadilla was great and Chile rellenos also ok. We went here twice while in Salt Lake City!

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The Mole is amazing!

Superb food. About the busiest little spot despite the commonplace look. Set up at the entrance is a teeny stand underneath the awning where the smartly dressed host marks the name of newly arriving guests, & escorting eagerly waiting patrons inside for their turn. Smiling in welcome parades dinner menu waitress, a water waitress, a motherly senora with the cocktail menu & a chips & salsa bearer. Delighted, we basked in the pampering & leisurely ate to bursting not a morsel left, save melting cubes of ice in empty glasses.

Yes. Its good food.
Bad news is that the only way to go to a friend or family member of the American 🗽
The food is amazing, the staff friendly and always wearing a mask correctly! Felt safe and well fed at the Red Iguana!
No reservations. Its first come first serve so get there early. The way is never as bad as they say though.
Hi Brian, RI opens at 10a on Sat/Sun and 11a M-F. Open til 10p.
There is no normal but they are pretty good about minimizing wait times. It mostly depends on your party and if you are waiting on someone but yeah usually the lunch wait ain't too bad. In conclusion I highly recommend Red Iguana if you are thinking of going there. Tell em Dustin sent ya, they won't know what that means but it would be funny I think. Also I just came back and had to add this...you can reserve a table here online. Google it and there is a big rectangle that says Reserve a table so there ye be, problem es no problem.
I went to original and was pretty quiet. What I heard they are about the same.
