Yes, once opened they all must be, we add no preservatives.

Unopened all of our products have a two year shelf life, when opened they all must be refrigerated. The Extract has 30-45 days, Wellness Syrup has 45-60 days, and Children’s Formula has 45-60 days.

Our extract has only the natural sugar of the elderberry. There is 0.5 grams of sugar per tsp in the Extract.

We do not recommend you give our products to children under the age of 2, if you insist to do so we recommend you speak with your pediatrician before.

Our Extract is just elderberry and water (with a small amount of malic acid for bottling) but elderberry is a naturally low sugar berry with a very tart taste and some people do not like this. To accommodate people who want a sweeter taste, we have our Wellness Syrup, which is just our extract with the addition of honey, clove, and cinnamon to give it a wonderful flavor with the added bonus of honey being a natural throat soother.

We do not as elderberry is naturally very low in sugar and must have some added in order for them to have a delicious taste.

Our main farms are located in SW MO. We also have multiple growing partners all across the states, the company was founded in NC and we still have a large presence there. We do not have a store front but you can visit normsfarms.com and go to our “where to buy” page to find a nearby store.

We do not allow customers to “self-pick” elderberries at our farm.

We sell our berries in 25lb bundles for $3.50 a pound. They are picked and then immediately flash frozen. All berries sold must be overnighted at the cost of the buyer or they must pick up in Purdy. We are working to make 1,5,10 pound bundles next year for those who do not want bulk

We start taking pre-orders for our cuttings in October. All cuttings are made when the plants are dormant in late December early January. Cuttings are shipped to customer Mid January. Cuttings are on a first come first serve basis and when they are out they are out (we have not run out before). Plants are available in Mid to late spring and we do not pre order these currently.

All products that we are gluten free except the dried elderflower.

Our extract and wellness syrup are. Jams and Jellies are made in a facility that does process products that contain allergens but it follows all rules and guidelines as set by the FDA and has vigorous cleaning practices between each product.

We are not currently certified as organic though it is something that is on our radar. We follow only natural farming practices (and if pushed) we only use pesticides if we are in danger of losing an entire crop and only use carbaryl

Return and Refund policy is on a case by case basis. If the defect/issue is a product problem or something we caused we will always rectify the issue. We generally do not replace a product because a customer did not like the taste of it. If a store takes a product back for a taste issue that is on the store unless we have a prior agreement.
