I had unfortunately relied on the services of Home Instead Senior Care for a short time period when we were uncertain that my elderly father required at home care services after the loss of my mother. He was residing at an independent senior care community at the time. My father soon decided to cancel services primarily because he was pretty self-sufficient after a few weeks of care. The at home care person also reeked of cigarettes which didn’t reflect well on their vetting process. When I opted to move my father into my home, I reached out to Home Instead again for a consideration of at home care services. They denied resuming services stating that we did not provide 2-weeks notice upon our previous cancellation. Not sure what that meant, as we had provided adequate notice while waving our deposit. We’ll be exploring other more suitable options at this time.
