I started working at Rahav Wellness in the fall of 2019. When I started I had never been to or heard of functional medicine. Not only am I grateful to be working with such compassionate, warm, and kind individuals but I feel very lucky to have served the patients that have walked through our doors. Additionally, my health has greatly improved, to the point that I feel like an entirely different person. My whole life I have suffered from GI issues. Doctors never knew what was wrong and it felt l would never be symptom free. Immediately, Dr. Rahav and NP Aliseo knew something was not right. For two years they have been working with me and updating my treatment plan as my symptoms have improved. I am now at a point where I barely, if ever, have bloating, cramping, nausea, and debilitating plan. My mental health has also greatly improved. I’m so thankful for them and for all the incredible people Rahav Wellness has brought into my life.

I contracted Covid-19 virus in March 2020, was hospitalized early April and was finally discharged late June 2020. After almost 3 long months, I came home with still no assurance of my state of health and when I’ll be off the nasal cannula oxygen. The virus did a lot of damage on my body especially on my lungs. In addition, I developed pulmonary hypertension, headaches (severe at times) as well as muscle/joint pains. We went thru numerous doctors and did not get much relief and/or answers. The pulmonologist we consulted had advised us that I might be on oxygen indefinitely and would need to be re-evaluated for a lung replacement after 3 months. We heard about Dr. Rahav from a friend who’s in natural medicine. My wife made an appointment right away and upon meeting her in August 2020, I shared my health journey. She listened compassionately and attentively and said we would “prove the findings wrong”. The hope and joy that my wife and I felt were indescribable as those were the first assuring words since my ordeal with the virus. During my first visit, Dr. Rahav checked my vitals and had me lie down on my back to check the kind of supplements that my body is opening up to (my apology as I don’t remember how this procedure is called). Even before any blood work, this procedure enabled Dr. Rahav to know the kind of supplements that my body was lacking to heal. From this finding, she devised a supplement plan that I started with. She also performed a slight neck therapy which instantly relieved me of headaches and gave me a better feel of being. She then ordered a comprehensive blood workout. On our next visit, she took time to thoroughly explained the result thereof and adjusted the supplement plan accordingly. She also had me undergo Vitamins and Ozone IV Therapy sessions. After few months of being under her care, my oxygen level improved that I did not have to use the cannula anymore, was relieved of headaches, my pulmonary hypertension was normalized, and most importantly, I did not have to go for a lung transplant re-evaluation as I am recovering well from my symptoms. Dr. Rahav, we cannot thank you enough for taking me to where my health is right now, you are God send. We are grateful for your kindness, compassion, intelligence, well rounded knowledge and professionalism. You made us feel that I am, my health is the most important to you on all our consult visits. May God shower you, your family and entire staff (who’s been very accommodating and supportive) with continued blessings and guidance so you may carry on with your journey of helping people to heal. God Bless You!

Dr. Miriam Rahav is woke and that is all. If you need more: I’m not one to rush into calling a doctor; my doctor. I take my time to see if a doctor is about my wellbeing or prescribing a pain killer to move on to the next patient. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a doctor as “a person skilled or specializing in healing arts.” Dr. Miriam Rahav through her treatment allowed my body to heal. She is a doctor and a healer with her mastery. In early April of this year, I got infected with COVID-19 and it was not until recently that I was able to confirm having antibodies. In the mist of the growing pandemic my PCP went silent with an overwhelming number of patients. I remember getting ready to buckle down with over the counter pain killers and fever reducers, as Urgent Care had prescribed. Then I was recommended to Dr. Rahav. She is the most gracious and in-depth thinking doctor I have ever met in my life. I can’t put into words the fear of not being able to take care of my family. After her assessment and treatment, I got better and was able to continue my work as an essential worker. I wouldn’t put my review up without thinking critically and doing my own research, as Dr. Rahav introduced me to tools that helped my body heal and promoted my health to a level I never knew before COVID. I highly recommend her and her team. They are all phenomenal! I feel fantastic. Thank you!!

Questions & Answers

What is Functional Medicine

Rachael Kuecher | Oct 9, 2020
Rahav Wellness | The Center For Collaborative Healing | Oct 9, 2020

Functional medicine, rather than targeting individual symptoms, focuses on the optimal functioning of the entire body and its organs. It addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach in partnership with understanding the conditions and history in which the disease manifested. Genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors all have a direct influence of long-term health and chronic health issues.

Does Rahav Wellness take any insurance?

Rahav Wellness | The Center For Collaborative Healing | Oct 9, 2020

We do not bill insurance companies for consultations, IV therapies, nutrition consultation, colonics, or IV nutrition or ozone; it is up to each individual to determine whether their insurance plan provides reimbursement for our various clinical services. We do provide an insurance invoice and hcfa claims form at the time of checkout. Patients will need to mail or fax these forms themselves. With labs we help facilitate the lab company billing the patient’s insurance. If there are any issues with the billing, it is the patients’ responsibility to contact the lab to address the matter.

How much time do I have to cancel or change a scheduled consultation?

Rachael Kuecher | Oct 9, 2020
Rahav Wellness | The Center For Collaborative Healing | Oct 9, 2020

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please notify our office a minimum of 48 hours before your scheduled time or by Friday at noon if you have a Monday morning appointment. You may be charged for that appointment if you are not able to notify us in time. Of note, the 75$ placeholder fee we charge your card upon making your appointment request, is non-refundable. Consultations may be charged in full if the cancellation policy is not followed. Our providers’ patients may be waiting a month to be seen, and a missed appointment takes time away from someone else. As a courtesy, our office will email/text you to confirm your appointment 3 days in advance.

How long does it take to feel better?

Rachael Kuecher | Oct 9, 2020
Rahav Wellness | The Center For Collaborative Healing | Oct 9, 2020

Results vary by each person. Some people feel dramatic improvement within the first month, others may take a bit longer. Our standard programs are for a minimum of 6-months. Remember, your body didn’t fail overnight. Years of stress and illness takes its toll and it takes a proper amount of time to restore. On average it takes one month of repair for each year you’ve suffered from a specific problem.

What conditions can Functional Medicine treat?

Rachael Kuecher | Oct 9, 2020
Rahav Wellness | The Center For Collaborative Healing | Oct 9, 2020

Functional medicine, because it treats systems and targets the entire body, can help treat many chronic conditions. Some examples of health conditions that can be treated with functional medicine are: autoimmunity, hormone imbalances, subfertility and infertility from non-mechanical reasons, gut disorders (IBS, IBD), chronic fatigue, and neurodegenerative disorders. What is important to note is that various conditions can be treated and improved upon, but the extent of improvement very much depends on each individual’s circumstances. Oftentimes, functional medicine offers a treatment course, where other medical modalities do not. This is possible because the goal of functional medicine is root cause resolution, as opposed to symptomatic management, and we find that there are almost always modifiable factors at the root level.
