I called today with a challenging inquiry; I'm helping a friend to complete a federal form for his fiance born in the Philippines to be allowed to come to the US for marriage. His parents were born in the Amite City area, but he does not know their dates of birth. Trudy made concerted efforts to help me find records of his parents' DOB, eventually referring me to Ann Boltin, who is an archivist in the Baton Rouge area. Trudy's warm and clear thinking suggestions were spot on. She suggested that I look online at the church's photographs. It appears to be a truly beautiful and spiritually anchored community. I greatly appreciate Trudy's help, and, if I ever have a chance, I will stop by just to meet her and visit in person. That's how much her kindness touched me.

There is so much to absorb on the property of St Helena Catholic Church. It’s so peaceful to walk amidst the Apostles and gardens. You can spend time with Jesus in the church and the adoration chapel. You can ask for a tour or set up a learning retreat. Just lovely!

Retreats can be scheduled pretty much any time. You can call the office or contact Full of Grace gift shop to find out if you can attend a scheduled retreat. These retreats are usually organized by groups not affiliated with St Helena. You can organize your own retreat as well for yourself and friends. FYI the church is holding Stations of the Cross every Friday night of Lent at 6 PM. Come on by.
