Great place to take riding lessons. Good horses and good trainers. Then school starts and the horses are out for showing and you get canceled, pushed off and eventually you just give up and find a new place.

The gate opens automatically, so just wait a few minutes to drive in. They prefer people enter through the clubhouse, which is spacious and has a lot of trophies from riding. I got to speak with the owner, and he is cool. He showed me around since I arrived about 30 min before my lesson, and when I got to look around I noticed that each horse has their own tack and grooming equipment, and the riders who are regulars there or train new riders have their lockers for their gear, but the center has boots you can borrow if you don't have a pair of your own. It also has helmets you can borrow. The lesson itself begins with grooming the horse you will ride, then applying tack and saddle. After that you ride. They teach green riders , like me, up to shows and events. After the riding is done you de-tack your horse and groom them, then you pay the instructor who trained you. There are three instructors who take students to the arena, and two who watch over all the arena. Mia, who is my instructor, did very well, as she is consistent and patient. The horses here are experienced, and have won awards in shows, so they are excellent trainers, too, and the center uses a mounting block, which makes getting on easier and safer.

What a lovely facility. Very clean, orderly and well maintained. The owners Jim and Deborah were extremely pleasant and accommodating. We were even given a tour around the neighborhood, via golf cart to show us all the wild horses in the area. I highly recommend Reno Tahoe equestrian for long term or for just an over night stay. You and your horses won’t be disappointed.

No, they have a large stable of great lesson horses. Mostly Arabians. Deb Johnson is a great teacher.
