I have been a patient of Dr. Papernik since Jan, 2013. I have fibromyalgia, depression, and PTSD. Dr. Papernik has an amazing bedside personality, listens intently to the patient and the family, and communicates clearly so that you can truly understand what is happening to your body. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone suffering from chronic pain - you will not be dissapointed.

UPDATE AS OF JAN 2020: Dr. P is scheduling appointments at Sanitas Medical Center, 4551 Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06606. 844-307-4827. Last I heard, they're scheduling appointments for Medicare and self pay ($99 consultation) ONLY. Once the paperwork goes through for other insurance, he'll schedule more. In the same position. I can hazard a guess why Dr. Papernik left in such a hurry. Apparently Griffin Faculty Physicians used bait and switch tactics to get him to accept a position there. He thought he was going to be practicing there both as a CFS/Fibromyalgia specialist and as a PCP. The Griffin receptionist insisted he was only brought into the practice as a PCP and also that out of state patients couldn't be seen there anyway. I bet it was a shock to him when he started work there and realized most of his patients (who would move heaven and Earth to follow him) would be refused access to him there.
I just heard from Dr. Papernik. They're not scheduling his appointments yet, but he accepted a new position at Sanitas Medical Center, 4551 Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06606. 844-307-4827
He is now at internal Medicine of gn
Any lawyer will tell you to sue Griffin Faculty Physicians, not Dr. P. He sent us all a letter informing us in good faith where he fully intended to resume seeing his established patients, but Griffin's office staff peremptorily severed those doctor-patient relationships against Dr. Papernik's wishes. Presumably he immediately left to embark on a search for a new practice, which he was unable to procure until October 8. He does not have an agenda yet because it takes time to update computer systems and officially start one's practice (paperwork and logistics come to mind). Cut the guy a break. He must be unbelievably stressed and flustered by the outrageous situation that Griffin put him in. I share your outrage, but I choose to direct my hostility toward the true culprit: Griffin Faculty Physicians.
I am now seeing the doctor I believe responsible for Dr. Papernik's hasty exit from Southbury. One of the receptionists was a spy, and when I called in a med request, she messed it up. My pharmacy knows my prescriptions have been the same for years, and when she called to verify, the woman said "She hasn't even been seen by the doctor yet. No acknowledgement of ten years of treatment, and worse, no respect for a talented physician with a heart.
He started at Internal Med of Greater NH
I sent your wife a PM. Have her call Sanitas first thing in the morning to schedule for an appointment next week. If she doesn't have Medicaid, it's $99 out of pocket, but otherwise she'll have to wait a month or more, from what I understand.
Paperwork, I think, based on what the Sanitas receptionist said.
I do advise seeing him after what Griffin Faculty Physicians did to him and us. It will take about a month to update the computer system with his agenda, finalize paperwork, move him into the office at Sanitas, and figure out how to schedule all his patients. I'm afraid we'll all have to wait to call for appointments starting in late November.
I emailed him, and he emailed me back. When he went off the radar, I remembered I had his personal email address from 10 years ago when he first started at ProHealth. Some years ago, he got an official address and requested I don't use his personal email except in cases of urgency. I forgot I had it until last week. Thank God I remembered. I can't in good conscience give out that email address as it's a matter of privacy.
Beginning in December, Dr Papernik said he can be contacted at Sanitas Medical Center, 4551 Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06606. 844-307-4827.
