I have completed my procedure to renew my passport on June 20 at the Consulate General of Peru in the city of Hartford. The day of my procedure I was informed that the procedure would take between 40-60 days to receive my passport. Very important fact because otherwise it would be convenient for me to travel to Peru to do the paperwork. I have an emergency trip scheduled for the end of August and with return to the USA the first days of September, based on the information provided by the Consulate, I should have my passport with me to be able to leave the USA and return without problem. I called the consulate today (50 days after completing my procedure) and they told me that "now the procedure lasts 90 days to receive the passports", regardless of the previous information provided and that everything related to my trip is already scheduled based precisely that I should have my passport on the date they told me. I understand that things can happen that escape the hands of everyone, but what I do not understand is that I ask my consulate for help to please speed up the process and they do not give me ANY solution or help. The only thing I hear is "we're sorry, but that's how long the process is now", that lack of consideration and professionalism, when no one even informed me in time to make the necessary arrangements or changes. This is the worst service I have received, even more so when it comes to the Peruvian Consulate, who are supposed to help us find a solution in situations like this. Regrettable!
