i went to this location on 8/15/22 and an older white woman with glasses and brownish/gray hair ruined my entire day completely. i understand working with the public is hard, but my problem with this interaction is as follows; the white man who was in line right before me was treated with politeness. as soon as it was my turn, i was greeted with a “what”. which already rubbed me the wrong way. i explained to her that i had been getting messages to pick up my mail from the post office INSTEAD of it being delivered for the past week. she sighed extremely loud and yanked a pink slip off of the counter and told me that if i didnt have one that my visit was pointless. i remained calm because i genuinely didnt know that but i asked it she could please check as my package as something important. she asked if i had a tracking number, and when i started to read off the numbers she stopped me while i was speaking and said “do you know you can read two numbers at a time”. almost immediately after this RUDE comment she got my number wrong. in with which she searched for my package and nothing came up. i knew she had typed it wrong because after i repeated a number she did not press the keyboard. i asked if we can do the search again and she rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth. i’d like to point out that i was the only person in the entire building at this time. when we did it again, we figured out my package and i was able to get it. i asked where the nearest mailbox was, and she said, “did you not see it when you came in the door?”. absolutely disgusting attitude. i find it ridiculous that the white man infront of me was treated with respect and less than a few seconds later i was not..

This is now the 4th time i have been rudely yelled at by the woman at the front desk and enough is enough. She is so caustic she should not be allowed to talk to customers. I just went to Ansonia after having an unecessary argument with Derby and the woman at Ansonia was absolutely lovely. There used to be a gentleman on Saturday mornings who was nice but the older woman now has been the only one the past few times and she is just mean. I will say my actual mail carrier is amazing and Im not sure if shes still the manager (I want to say Debbie??) Was awesome once when i was having issues getting things delievered and hand brought something to my house....but the woman's attitude at the front desk is unacceptable.

This is literally the worst post office I’ve ever been to. To the rude old white woman with glasses that’s always in a bad mood and hates her job to the black man that just started working mornings. He decided after scanning and accepting my packages that it wasn’t acceptable. He decided after they were in the system that the packaging didn’t meet standards. Why wasn’t this inspected beforehand? What is the point of their jobs. The only one who is decent is the younger woman but that’s only because she literally doesn’t know what she’s doing and is tired of being yelled at. They all need to be retrained in customer service and polices. Because they’re all unprofessional. And they’re a government job. Shameful.

Very rude staff there. An old woman roared like a lion when she was "explaining" the issue to me. I heard nothing but just her roaring.

It depends where you live. I live on the opposite side of town and receive packages around 230pm and the trucks always seem to be out around then. I'd plan on 12pm-3pm
Looks like they close at 4:30pm
it usually means that the mailman couldn't get to your mailbox. In our area, it's usually because of snow.
