How long does work usually take? I'm needing a dress hemmed as quickly as possible for a wedding I'm in last minute.

I have a maxi dress that has straps on it and what I would like to have done with it for a wedding coming up Oct. 12 ,2019 is taking the top part of the dress and having the top of the top shirt sown in to look like it was already the dress.
