This is the only skating rink we have in Morganton and it's a shame because the quality of this rink is so bad. You would bring in an abundant amount of customers if yall were able to update and renovate this rink. I will drive 30 mins to Hickory just to skate at a better quality rink. First off the rink itself is so rough, and bumpy with lots of cracks...i couldnt imagine being a first time skater and learning how to skate on that kind of floor. It's awful. A rink should be smooth. Everything is old and out dated. There is no supportive wall around the rink just a small section of one and then everything else you have to step 2-4 inches up on carpet with no support to help. The food area is terrible. The flooring is old and chipped. They were serving Icy drinks without lids or even straws. I asked for a spoon. 2 sizes one small $3 and one large $5. They have no actual hot food items just packaged snacks. I ordered nachos and was handed a bag of chips and a small container of cheese for $6. The music is old and outdated. The pool tables are nice to have there but there's only one white ball for both the tables.... I'm super rooting that Pavilion will make some much needed changes and I know covid probably hurt but they could do better. Simple food adjustments would make the rink more profitable. Pizza, hot dogs, fountain drinks....I spent $10 for entry with skates and $9 on food items that were overpriced and below par. Opening up earlier would allow more profit. On a Saturday your only open from 6:30-9:30. You dont give the rink long enough to even make more profit. Its obvious the rink is struggling financially...i would love to drive 10 mins to our local rink instead of 30...but the quality is really unreasonable...with skating rinks becoming more popular from Stranger Things now is the time for this place to shine! Please make changes🙌
