My Dad lives in the Independent portion of this community (The Parke). I understand this is Independent Living but there is no staff on duty except M-F during the day time hours and on the weekend the kitchen staff does come prepare food, clean up and leave. I am in the senior care industry and I know this is not the case in almost any other IL you would visit. Speaking of the food, this seems to be a major concern for most of the residents. I am told that people (people considering moving in there) will come knocking at their doors to ask them about their experience there. Food is always discussed, as it should be. Think about it, if you move to a place like this you will be taking almost all of your meals there and if you are not happy with the food, you WILL NOT be happy living there. My Dad chose this place because it was close to where he had lived for 50 years, this was a big concern for him. I am sure if he had it to do over again, he would have made a different choice. I am giving 2-stars simply because the building at The Parke is cosmetically appealing. When Dad needs assisted living, I will find another place for him to move to. The AL, Memory Care and SNF in the other buildings are some of the most sterile looking places I have ever seen. Do yourself or your loved ones a favor and look elsewhere.

My husband had a heart attack about 2 1/2 years ago. After a hospital stay, he was released to Stanley Total Living Center for rehab. Larry had dementia along with heart and lung issues. I was asked to come down to do the admission and I explained that the heart attack had caused Larry to suddenly believe that he hated me and wouldn't talk to me or let me see him at the hospital. They said they understood and would make sure that didn't happen. Immediately after doing the admission STLC called me and told me I could not see or talk to Larry. He was there about a month until he had CHF and was taken to the hospital and then discharged to me with Hospice. He died shortly after. STLC robbed me of all that time with him! Now today I find out from my bank when paying off two vehicles that STLC allowed Larry to do a change of address to them. When I paid the cars off, they had their address to mail the titles to. I have no idea what mail has gone to them. I have no idea what financial issues are at stake here. STLC handled this all wrong!
