We had an appointment for 4 pm today for a second shot. (We got a confirmation text 24 hours before the appointment.) When we arrived, we were told that they had decided to close at 3. So we wasted an hour and a half in the car (plus tolls) and have to go back on Monday. The person at the entrance said that they tried to notify people, but we did not get a text, call, or email. Very disappointed that they did not honor existing appointments.

Got My first shot Friday (April 16th). It took a while to locate the place since GPS is routing to a Gate which is blocked. For others using GPS to locate Parking Lot M, please use “M, East Rutherford, NJ 07073” OR “Meadowlands Sports Complex Station” in your GPS and then follow Peripheral Road to Lot M1. If you are using Apple Maps, put “Metlife Stadium Tailgate Lot M1”. Just carry your Appointment mail, Id and Insurance Card. There are winding lines and very structured process to verify identity and appointment. You need to fill out a single page medical info form and get vaccination card and second dose appointment. You then get vaccine and have to wait 15 minutes in sitting area. And that’s it. Chairs and desks are continuously sanitised and its all very clean.

In and out in quickly. Go in 15 mins early and not before that. Very well organized by the covid-19 and HUMC team. Only by appointments. Make sure you have the appointment confirmation, ID card and Insurance card, if you have one.

My daughter took my mother in law, 94, to meadowlands site today for a vaccination. Female military outside would not allow my daughter to accompany her inside. My daughter exclaimed “she is 94 and has Alzheimer’s, what happens if she falls or becomes disoriented even more with all these people” that person responded, and my daughter has never lied to me, “I don’t care, see all these people, someone here is bound to pick her up”. Male military hearing this conversation, came over and saw my mother in law now shaking and looking terrified per my daughter, after walking, “several kilometers” and who is Asian after hearing recent attacks on people like herself from family members did not want to go in. These kind Men, brought her into another line for disabled individuals, and my daughter was able to accompany this fragile woman to get her vaccine. Kudos to these men. Karma to the other, this person will too be old and frail one day. I am grateful to New Jersey to providing this to a former teacher.
