Horrible company to work and management is worse. People here doesn’t appreciate or recognize hard work and will treat you like nothing. They are always under staffed and overwork you. If you pick up extra shifts to help out, they overwork you even more by letting the same group of people call out all the time. Traps and hires TNAs for “potential” to become a CNA with no proper class or training they'll just put you on the floor to shadow another aide and let you take the board exam with no book knowledge what so ever. You would be better off going to Mission Hospital and doing the 6 weeks of CNA training. Patients are being mistreated, they are fed horrible food. The food smells and looks horrible. They barley leave proper snacks out either during the day or at night. About half the patients don't eat the food there because of how disgusting it is. Kitchen management is awful. They are not leaving out enough snacks due to budge cuts. The whole place is dirty, there are bugs crawling around everywhere. They pick favorites when it comes to people that they have working there. If one of the people they favorite does something wrong they ignore it and push it under the rug like nothing ever happened. if your not a favorite then anything you do something wrong then assume you are going to be replaced. They are always hiring there because they can't keep any staff from CNA to LPN there. You would be better off going to work for a different location or a different company. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS LOCATION!

The Laurels is an excellent rehab facility. The staff is very friendly and helpful in every way possible. I have been a patient in the past and my husband has been a patient recently. We have had a great experience both times and have been very satisfied. The facility is very clean and comfortable. The support staff is also excellent. I would recommend this facility if you or a loved one needs rehab.

Ive been in here 4 days and I am still working on getting my medications straightened out. The nurse had not gotten my medications from the pharmacy so she took medication from another patient to give me. There are only 9 patients on the floor at this time. The night CNA never checked on me or gave me fresh ice water. The lab came in to draw blood and did not have a mask on. I asked her to put a mask on and she said she was having a hot flash and could not wear one right now. As far as nursing care I have fears for my safety. The physical therapy staff and day CNS's have been good.

I was a patient of this facility a few years ago. I have waited to make this review because there were many good things about the facility. The therapy staff I was exposed too were to notch, but I know that all those employees are no longer employed at the facility. The food was acceptable for a large institution. Many of the staff cared about their patients and what they did. However; one day while I was sitting in my room, I saw a group of policemen walking down the hall. I rolled out my door to see what was going on and I watched as a nurse was arrested on the hall and escorted out in handcuffs. What really scared me, was that a few days later this same nurse was back on the hall working with patients. I called a friend at the police dept to find out what this individual had been charged with and was shaken that the management had allowed this individual to return to work with a vulnerable population until these charges had been resolved. I also found out from staff that this same nurse had worked at a sister facility and had been fired for threatening a patient and harrassing female employees. I found out that numerous female employees had complained to management about this individual but nothing was done about it. After talking with staff I began to find out some interesting information about the nursing staff. Many of the nurses employed at that time had been caught stealing medications. I confirmed with the nursing board that some of these nurses were or had, in fact been on probation for doing just this. I will concede that a few of the nurses were very good nurses, but I personally could not reconcile with this considering that they were working with such a vulnerable population. Managment seemed more concerned about smoking or being on the phone than the care of patients. I would not return to this facility since I know that the staff that made a real difference are all gone and that the facility keeps going through management changes as well, which is a bad sign.
