very bad not good

I have never left a review before but I felt this time was necessary. I went in a couple weeks ago and had a CT scan done and had a severe allergic reaction to the contrast for days after. Not their fault but it did make me nervous for the trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasound my doctor told me to get. I was nervous the whole day for the invasive test and was hoping I had a nice lady tech who would help me through it. I was wrong. I am 21 years old and I was afraid, nervous, and needed comfort with maybe even a small sprinkle of therapeutic communication. I got none of it, the tech didn't even introduce herself. She only asked if I had had the procedure done before, to which I said yes. This was true as I had had one a couple weeks prior in the hospital with a tech who was kind and supportive. I am young and I am a healthcare professional with 3+ years experience, I know how to treat a patient, with respect and kindness. This ultrasound tech made me feel exposed, violated, sooo uncomfortable and acted cold and robotic. In the moment I didn't say anything but I should've advocated for myself, that's my fault, but I didn't expect this. I know I would never treat my patients like that and I should've told her off. I at least should've told her she was being a bad provider, something. I can understand having a long day at work, lots of patients, a lot of at home life stress, but when you have a young girl come in for an invasive test because she's been told there is something wrong with her, you at least say good afternoon and introduce yourself. After the procedure I balled my eyes out in my car. I have never felt so violated. I knew I had the test, I knew what was going to happen, I had time to prepare mentally and physically for the exposure and the pain but not enough to be treated like an object, a practice mannequin with no emotions. It doesn't matter how old I am, what gender, what test was being done invasive or not, no one should ever act as if you're a nuisance or you are less than anything you are. I do not recommend Holmdel Imaging. I am sure they have good people there who are passionate about their careers but with the risk of having that lady, I would advise to avoid as much as possible.

I had a prior poor review about a billing issue but everything has been handled professionally and taken care of. I spoke to a manager and they were very kind and helpful. I’m happy to say this issue has been resolved.

Questions & Answers

does Holmdel imaging do low dose cat scans

Robert Heck | Oct 8, 2021
Holmdel Imaging | Oct 8, 2021

Hey Robert, yes we do offer CT scans at our center. Our radiologists have protocols for each type of CT scan that will minimize exposure to radiation while still producing high resolution images. This ensures the lowest dose while ensuring patients and their providers get the highest images and radiologist reports to make treatment decisions. Give us a call if we can help clarify further or if you need to schedule an exam.

Hey Barbara! Here is a link with info about our MRI. http://holmdelimaging.com/patient-resources/services/mri/ We do not have the unit that is open on 3 sides, but do have many mildly claustrophobic patients who are able to complete their exams successfully in our MRI. Give us a call if you have other questions. We're happy to help :) 732-671-6618

Do you take walk ins?

Michael Robbins | Oct 9, 2019
Holmdel Imaging | Oct 9, 2019

Hey Michael, for certain types of test we do, like mammography or xray but other exams will need to be scheduled since the time can vary based on the study. It is also best to schedule any type of exam so we can minimize any waiting as much as possible. Walk-in exams are done on a first come first serve basis so wait can vary based on how many people we have walk-in. Hope this helps!
