First, I don't understand why cases from different areas are assigned to different county case workers. Everyone does NOT to their job. Now, since I've been receiving snap benefits and done completed my Associate's and Bachelor's degree. I was never asked to complete some form for school that the case worker is saying I need. I've asked other case workers and they said it depends on who is working your case but I don't even need that form so I'm having to miss n entire month because they are late processing recertification paperwork, they said I'd receive a call requesting the additional information but I never got a call so I ended up calling to check the status. NO ONE AT THIS OFFICE ANSWERS THE PHONE. MY CASE WORKER IS NOW ALSO NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE. NO ONE IS RETURNING PHONE CALLS OR VOICE MESSAGES EITHER. I can understand if they call me like the letter stated and told me what they needed then the school would have time to fill it out in a timely matter but they are also behind so bottom line I'm denied until they receive a form from the school that I don't even need and never had to fill out. Its ridiculous the non-communications and the different things you have to do depending on your case worker and since when did they stop accepting pay stubs or is that just this office because the recertification paperwork clearly states that and if thats changed it should be updated.

Terrible practices, loses a lot of information. And hasn’t had a working fax machine in over 2 years despite it having a fax number for information to be sent. Trying to have investigation started on staff and building

I called Williamsburg County DSS because the letter stated for me to call if I had not received a SNAP card within 10 days of the letter. When someone FINALLY came to the phone (after about 20 rings), I explained that I was calling because more than 10 days had passed since receiving the letter and I still had not received a card. The person that answered the phone looked up my account and then told me that my case was not considered and "expedited" case so I could not come into the local office and get a card. She stated that i would have to order a card and wait for it to be sent. This happened on April 17 and my benefits are scheduled to be on the card April 19. What is the purpose of asking the question on the application and on the telephone interview as to whether or not you have a card, if at the end of the day, you will still have to order a card. I am 44 years old and have paid into the system for for almost 30 years, but due to the negligence of whomever processed my application and apparently could not comprehend the box that was checked " NO, I DO NOT HAVE A CARD", I have to wait another 10-15 days before I get the card, after being out of work for over a month due to a health condition. but "It's A Great Day in South Carolina"...for WHO????
