Sourland Farm is wonderful as is Jim. I can't say enough about my experience. I had a hen go broody and needed fertilized eggs -quick! I contacted Jim and the next day I had my eggs. Now I have 4 beautiful chicks running around with Mama. Thanks so much. Great place, Great people, Great price, Great poultry!

Jim is so very helpful. I have received fertilized eggs from him for the past two years, much to the delight of the preschoolers enrolled at Little Footprints Learning Center. He goes the extra mile to answer questions and to make sure that the hatching process is a success. I would highly recommend him!!

Sourland Farm! I'm so happy I made the hike to check it out! I would give way more than 5 stars if I could. Jim is passionate about what he does, very knowledgeable, and truly cares for the well-being and humane treatment of animals. Communication was prompt and reliable. It's clear that the success of all backyard famers is considered important here. Even, if you've never purchased from here, they will still do their best to answer your questions and guide you to success! That, in itself, says something! We purchased fertile eggs for our first (full 21 day) home incubation/hatch project. I made a few mistakes along the way such as my incubator not being calibrated correctly for the first 16 days. Immediately, I went to the internet researching this situation and felt very discouraged and heartbroken after reading I wouldn't have any hatch. That's when I contacted Jim to see if he had more fertile eggs for me to try again. His response instilled hope that they might still hatch, it may just take longer, along with other possible outcomes. I fixed the temperature and hoped for the best. We ended up with 4 healthy little fluff balls - perfect number for our first home flock! Since the hatch, I've email Jim several times with questions. It seems that no matter how much you prepare, there will always be something you didn't think of. I definitely encourage anyone with the slightest interest in hatching/raising chicken to reach out! Great job, Sourland Farm! And many thanks!

Questions & Answers

Do you have Rutin chickens in your farm? My child like Rutin very much, he wants them than other kinds of chickens.

Sorry, we to not have Rutins. They are called chiclkens, but they are not chickens. Rutins are a cross of a spotted-winged partridge and a blue-breasted quail. Good luck in your search.
