To follow up on a message from this company, the work that was accomplished left little to be desired. My wife had initially called the company to come and look at sprinkler system wiring and to replace ONE valve only along with the run of the wire going from the box to the sprinkler system; nothing more and nothing less. The owner stated that there was no “negligence” on behalf of his employees in the beginning of the message. He tried to blame all the mishaps on the pipes being old, brittle, and unreliable when working on the system. I had replaced another section of my sprinkler system and did not have any problems with the pipe being “old, brittle and unreliable.” Even though the system is a little more than 30 years old, I have never worked on or seen PVC pipes described in such a manner. The individuals kept breaking segments of the pipes as they went along working on the original issue. One of the zones that previously worked before this mess was created now no longer does. Instead of just doing the prescribed work, the owner decided to take it upon himself to replace the entire manifold (not one, but all) because he stated it was “industry standard” to do so. Now with parts being purchased from the local hardware store, the retail price of each parts was only $35.00 including sales tax. I find it kind of strange that I was charged a 572% price increase for each valve (store bought valve: $35.00; price charged: $200.00 – total of $400.00 for $70.00 worth of parts). Now after 5 days and work being unfinished I have a hole left in my yard, a leaking system, and a zone that originally worked, no longer working and the individual wanting way more money than originally agreed upon in the estimate because of “unforeseen” expenses. As for the company, no further contact is preferred.
