Kirksville Airport

Like most small airports, Kirksville Regional Airport is a pleasure to fly out of. I arrived a bit early in hopes of getting the Copilot's seat, but it wasn't available on my flight. That did give me time to look around the airport, though, and it's tiny. Once you walk in, check-in your bags at the counter and then sit down to go through TSA. There are plugs available on the wall if you need to charge a device. Although I was surprised that TSA offered precheck at such a small airport, my security experience was great. I got a beep when I walked through the metal detector, but the TSA agent seemed apologetic and constantly reassured me that I did nothing wrong. He just checked my shoes, and I was good to go. My sister accidentally brought a sunscreen bottle through security, and the TSA agent went out of her way to find her checked bag and make sure the bottle made it to the destination. The entire security process took about 2 minutes. After going through security, we waited 10-15 minutes to board the plane. My only issue was an older TV in the corner of the room, which made an incredibly high-frequency noise. I had to put headphones on to get rid of it. However; Other than the TV, I don't have any complaints about IRK. It's a great little airport with great staff and in a great location. Great private planes, small but mighty airport but right size for town. Staff including pilot were friendly, professional and and actually quite charming.

Super easy ticketing, TSA, and boarding. Sometimes cancels and randomly sends you off in a van. Also, listening Pete Davidson's skit on Cape Air is an excellent way to prepare for your travels here.

Best small airport. TSA employees were helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend Cape Air service.
