Twice now I've purchased a chicken, bacon, ranch salad and the lettuce is rotted. Not just a little either. As someone who works in a restaurant and preps lettuce I know this has sit in the container for days and days. Either that or when it was prepped for the salad instead of discarding the bad pieces often found when purchasing bulk lettuce they've just tossed them in. Which would only speed the process of rotting and rot the surrounding pieces. Either way it wasn't possible to consume it without the fear and falling greatly I'll. I know the importance of these reviews and I always give a second chance, but sadly I was let down a second time. Someone has got to get in there who cares more than what's being shown currently. Maybe a better incentive for management or a complete management overhaul. Something has got to be done or I fear this buisness will not be with us much longer.

I went to this place after it first opened up. I have never went back, and I will not be going back to any Gold Star Chili. It was honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. If the waiting staff at the time was ok, it would have been fine. I would just not care. They made fun of me and my mother, and all we did was sit down, order and eat our food, pay and then leave. I was just so mad when I left. I cant believe I watched the staff do what they did at the time. I just hope that this place, has gotten better.

Stopped on our way from Tennessee to Chicago. Very good coneys. Prices were great. The staff was spectacular. Very quick, always a smile. Very welcoming. Kudos all around.

The service was amazing - I would eat there again just based on the service. I had the chili 5 way which is chili over the top of spaghetti with onions, beans, and cheese which was very similar to Skyline but really good. I think a little mustard would have been great on it also. I had a coney dog also which was ok but I am a little add spoiled being from Detroit and having grown up on National Coney Islands. Gold Star Chili is definitely worth stopping at.
