This is a nice stop on the Route 66 route. It has been remodeled since the last time I was there. They did a great job on the remodel. My son had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and said it was very tasty.

Excellent find on the road on Memorial Day holiday. Wife and I were out and about on the motorcycle and decided it was time for dinner. Very inviting on the outside and super cool on the inside. We were fortunate to have Erika as our waitress who recommended the fried chicken. That was good enough for me so I went with that while my wife had chicken salad. She said hers was good while I can personally attest that the fried chicken was delicious. Erika forewarned me that ordering friend chicken takes a while as the chicken is cooked to order. It took about 1/2 hr for the meals to come out but we were warned!!!delicious chicken ( no shiny fingers after eating it). All the food that was supposed to be hit came out piping hit. French fries were large cut and plentiful and very hot. Cole slaw was plentiful and delicious ( home made on site) Service was top notch/ambiance was in a league of its own and the food was both tasty and valued priced. Would recommend this place for a stop if you are driving down the road and anywhere near Dwight Il

Old Route 66 Family Restaurant had been recently remodeled, so it almost feels too nice to be a real Route 66 diner. There is plenty of room between tables, the service is very friendly, and the menu is extensive. I should have asked what cheese came on the skillet - it was American - but I was able to remove it with minimal difficulty and the rest was delicious.

This restaurant has been completely remodeled since we were here a couple years ago. It looks fantastic, and our food was very good. If you're traveling Route 66, stop in Dwight for a meal here, then also visit the Texaco station nearby.

They are open on Christmas Day.
The Covid practices at this restaurant are very strict. We had to wear a mask to the table, they supplied me with ketchup packets and salt packets as well as cream and sugar packets as needed! Very professional and super clean!
You can dine inside, call for carryout, or curbside pickup. You will not be disappointed! The Hobby and I ate there yesterday and we couldn't have been more pleased
