A absolute beautiful place, so peaceful

Wonderful place to go for a day hike. The trails and plants are labled, sand bar, look out Bird tower, old cypress trees in the swamp, and a small covered bridge. The bathrooms are very unique as well as odd as that sounds. It's definitely a hidden gem!

Highly recommended! Perry Lakes Park is a definite must-see if in Perry County! Located less than ten miles from Marion, it is a perfect activity to do before a delicious dinner while there. The park itself is huge with plenty of trails to walk on and benches to rest on. In addition, if one walks about ten minutes from the parking lot, Barton's Beach is also there which is beautiful to say the least. Here, a nice, sandy beach touches a peaceful river which is perfect for swimming, canoeing, or whatever else you could put your mind to. Overall, Perry Lakes Park is a must-see while in Marion, Alabama!

They usually open the gate around 6:30-7 am and close them around 4:30-5:30 depending on the daylight. Dawn to dusk.
I was there on a Saturday and it was open.
No, No picnic areas because of routine flooding from the Cahaba River.
