I whimsically drove here a skosh before dusk. On a Monday. Mid August. There were at least 15 trucks and trailers in the gianormous lot. And yet - it was deserted. For a second I thought has the Rapture begun? No time for that, where's a restroom. Right there on a rise. Thank you - men's side was impeccably clean. I mean, Oregon coast State Park level of clean. I was/am actively scouting for kayak launch points. Found here in spades. If you have an inflatable craft, it doesn't get better than this. You can unload on grass where the path to a floating dock begins, park in a designated space right there, launch from the dock, and never touch the water. Eventually another dude showed up taking his lab-retriever for a swim in the beach area. Other than him no one else was there. We were about 200 yards apart. So I surmised the Second Coming was not happening. Thank God. Because of here alone, I've purchased the Army Corp's of Engineers recreational $40 annual day use areas pass. Super deal worth every penny. Note, this review is based on a week day evening visit. Cobb/Cherokee County schools new academic year was underway. Of course if you have a trailer-hauled water craft, this site is likewise perfect. I think also, alcohol is prohibited. Bank fishing? The next day I brought my son with me same time of day. He landed a small spotted bass, off the edge of the boat ramp, first cast using a drop-shot nose hooked plastic worm. Braided line no leader.

Most of the time it's peaceful, great place to camp, picnic, and swim. Also a great place to clear your mind from the rest of the world (stress)!!!.the staff is RUDE and really detract from the beauty of the nature here!!!

Our boat quit in the middle of the lake, nice people towed us & others waited patiently as we put it back on trailer at the ramp. . .boaters are nice people
