I’ve debated posting this but I will and it’s long I apologize. I was admitted for one week before the scheduled c section of my daughter. The care during this time was wonderful. HOWEVER. After? Horrible. Shortly after they delivered my daughter (who is disabled and looks different than others but is as happy and healthy as she can be), I heard someone near my head go “quality of life? Yeah I don’t see it.” Yeah. I heard that. It broke my heart. Then, my bed call light was broken they couldn’t hear me. My fiancé had to go get them several times. One time I needed help setting up my pump because my legs were still numb and I couldn’t do it because it was across the room and the nurse acted like it was just horrible to help me set up what I needed to feed my child (my fiancé was across the street at the Children’s hospital he couldn’t help). Then when he finally did meet a lactation consultant, he tried to help wash the parts and she snatched them from him and told him to get out the way. Such a wonderful way to encourage a new father. 🙄 Not to mention the people who constantly walked in and panicked because I didn’t have my baby because they don’t apparently read the notes or they’d know she was across the street getting a spinal repair and wasn’t even in the hospital anymore . Basically, some people are wonderful. Others not so much. The experience broke my heart during an already fragile time and honestly messed with me for a while. I felt I had to post this.
