It's a beautiful trail, but apparently some people are racist towards Latinos. There were a lot of white people on electric bikes just like us. We had the bad experience that a cyclist passed us by and yelled at us that we couldn't ride that bike, on another occasion another person stopped us and told us that we couldn't ride electric bikes either and that they could fine us $500 dollars. Near the end of the trail, my husband stopped a white person who was with his family and they were riding scooters and electric bicycles and asked him if it was illegal to use them or if someone had told him something about it and the person replied that he had never had problems and that they always used them. I also confirm another negative comment that I read here, and that is that they run very fast without taking into account that there are more people using the trail, on one occasion my son and I almost had an accident with one of the entrance gates because one person on a bicycle passed us so close and fast that he pushed us towards the gate, and the man did not care and continued on his way. They should not allow that kind of behavior, much less in a public park that many families are going to share with their children.

Always a great spot so many places to stop and enjoy

One of my favorite rail trails.

Love this trail. We see deer, blue birds. Also see friends.

How long is the trail. If I start in Columbia, what is the the town at the other end of the trail?
If you have a Sonic Bike device it plays music specific to the trail. It uses GPS to know where you are and plays the Playlist. "The Sonic Bike is an instrument that plays sound and music that changes depending on where the cyclist goes and how fast they ride. It is simply a bicycle with speakers on the front and our GPS tracking audio system in a box on the back."
The trail is almost completely paved from Columbia to Bainbridge. There is a short section section when you reach Marietta that you can either ride a crushed limestone path or choose a very well patched road. The trail then picks up on little-traveled roads in Marietta before rejoining the paved trail. All riding can be done on road bikes.
The whole trail is like 14 miles maybe...Columbia to Bainbridge or vs versa
It's fantastic for biking! It's roughly 12 miles along the river.
