My faith in a great dental experience has been restored. I have had so much dental work done in the past that I ended up avoiding the dentist for years and then had lots of problems. My smart watch always registered I had a workout, or I needed acupuncture before a dental visit. Dr May and his staff are amazing and when I go to their office I’m calm, relaxed, and have good laughs. They are cheerleaders and friendly and it makes the experience so much more enjoyable. I had to get an amalgam filling out and it was unlike the other ones from dentists who didn’t care mercury was going everywhere. I also had a root canal removed and an implant put in and it has healed so fast and no trauma like the other implants I’ve had- the last guy who did my extraction said I needed to be put under because it was so traumatizing for both of us. Dr May did wonders and again I’m so happy I found his office. I drive a long way and it’s totally worth it, so is the expense he charges. He does everything in house and it’s so nice to have the crown or temporary tooth put on before you leave the office. Oh!! And another thing I’m surprised by is he looks at the whole body and how well you are able to heal. He asked about vit d levels and gave me minerals to take before my surgery. What dentist does this?! First one I’ve found. He also uses muscle testing and can clear trauma via the emotion code. He’s just very different and my new favorite dentist, which I never thought I’d have. I can now say I really enjoy going to the dentist.

So just to preface this, I’m not by any means someone who writes many reviews, especially bad ones. Just after my experience with this office I felt that i needed to put my experience out there for people who are considering this practice. What can i say.. as much as i wanted it to work, I was very disappointed with my experience with Dr May and his staff. I spent so much time trying to justify the insanely high consultation cost ($725) and finally decided to move forward and had high expectations but was nothing but disappointed. After my insanely high cost consult, i decided NOT to move forward with this practice so that should tell you a lot. To be honest, you can see where all of the funds for the consult are going to when you walk through the door. The office is full with insanely cheesy art work and you leave with a goodie bag full of “Dr May” branded items you don’t need. A note to the team would be to cut out the trinkets and lower the price for people to get the help they need. Aside from that, two things really didn’t gel with me. One of them was a really unpleasant text change i had with a jr staff member there. Upon telling her that i wasn’t sure if i was comfortable taking 20,000 iu daily for weeks she immediately responded saying “your welcome to go elsewhere.” After all of the time and energy I spent i was extremely upset to receive that response. Just shows that your not worth much after your insanely high consult fee has gone through. I appreciate the apology i received from another staff member who called me several days afterwards, but the whole thing just left me with a bad feeling. I then asked them for the CBCT scan to get a consult elsewhere and they kept sending me versions without the reader and ones that were just not working. When i tried to call them from Dr’s offices bc they weren’t able to open they just would not pick up calls and were just really passive aggressive about the whole thing. Anyhow, after all of the back and forth it took me over 1 MONTH to get a working CBCT scan from them. So in addition to the nasty response from the Jr team member and the insanely complicated process to simply get my expensive scan from them i was just over it and disgusted by the way they run their practice. You can tell its all money driven and that they don’t genuinely care about the patients past or experience. I know a lot of you who are seeking places like this are looking for someone who will understand, empathize, etc as you probably have more complex issues and this is just simply not the place. Please do your research. I found an amazing practice afterward that was the compete opposite from this experience. i’m bummed i had to spend all that money and go through what i had to but i certainly learned my lesson.

Unfortunately, this one of a kind office does not work with Husky or Medicaid, however, patients with Medicaid who choose to see one of the top dentists in Connecticut and the Northeast USA have no issues with paying out of pocket or applying for additional financing!
