I’ve been to this UWS staple many times. Tasty food and portions are good. Service like many places in the city could be off. You may have to wait to order, empty dishes may sit on your table for a while, and you just have to get their attention for the bill. You’ll need time at this place. Also, avoid the “manager” during the day on weekends. He’ll stare you down, hardly speaks, and when he does, it’s probably to say something rude. We spent close to an hour waiting for a dessert that never arrived and for the bill. My one credit card didn’t work and that’s when the “manager” came in as opposed to during the one hour wait! Follow up - the “manager” went as far as finding my private phone # off my OpenTable reservation, and to call asking I don’t go back to Pappardella. Wao. I guess he read the review. No learnings!
