My husband bought a pack from ground bison from union market union street from the store and didn’t check the date. I was going make dinner then realized the use by date was last week. I called and tried to get some clarity, someone answered then transferred me to the meat department without a heads up. Anyway, the guy from the meat department just said well you can return it. I said who was in charge, we shop there almost daily, why are you selling expired food. Guy said I’m not the meat manager, you can call the meat manager tomorrow. I then said, do you feel sorry about this, it should be the entire store’s responsibility to make sure the products you are selling premium prices for are not expired. He just goes, fine, sure. Unbelievable. Goodbye Union Market.

Union market is an amazing place for foodies in park slope. Nice selection of fruits, vegetables and prepared foods.

Great selection of food but be prepared to deal with rude staff, especially behind the meat counter. They consistently manage to ruin my Saturday morning mood which honestly is quite a feat.

A store that was over priced before inflation, now it has a staff that's rude too. When management can't get the basics right...well, it's just not worth it.
