Most of the Doctors are fantastic, so are the pcas, newer nurses too,as for the old timers , my question is , if you’re miserable, why be there ? Oh I get it, you get paid 60+ an hour , ok 👍 so here is the problem, take a health stream class on how to be an emotional support and help the patient with your heart, not just the check! Hopefully your child will be in good hands , when I say good, I’m also including personality, a nice staff, that’s caring and understanding.I had a terrible experience when my son was admitted hours ago , that caused him an emotional distress. Long story short, this hospital needs to understand that we are humans , that not everything needs to be by the book: my child was admitted from the ER to 7-4 and since both me the dad and mom was next to him, his recovery was progressing much faster, so when Night Shift nurse arrived , and walked into the room around 10:40 pm she looked at us and said that only one of us are allowed to stay, I gently asked if she could make an exception due to the fact that my child being a toddler never slept away from mom or dad, she Rudely replied “no” and offered me to talk to one of the Night Shift supervisor “executive” once the supervisor arrived things got worst , she wanted to show power more then emotion, she made my child cry, threatening to call security to kick either one of us out mom or dad , I tried begging her for this exception , being 4th of July with my son sick and going through and now going through emotional distress cuz of her, she was very nasty, cold blooded heart, my child was in tears , she didn’t care at all, what type of hospital is this again? I told her that a policy is not a law , that in this situation she could’ve helped us and go above and beyond for our child sake , omg My toddler was terrified , and for the nurse that called her , she was thanking the supervisor for a job well done “ now answer me this, what kind of a hospital is this ? That prefers causing an emotional distress , traumatizing a child by keeping mom and dad separated , so she can show power of following a dumb made up policy that it is not a law . By the way, Childrens ER had an excellent service. Night Shift on 7-4 are heartless , executive personnel heartless , i can’t even express how much of disappointment I have of taking my son to this hospital , next time I’ll drive a little further and go to Hartford ,I truly felt discriminated against for us being Hispanic , and I also feel like that ppl that are miserable needs to respect ppl that grew up in a loving family “ policy is not a law , what ever they done to us, making my toddler cry like that, kicking one of us out, it will come back to them one day , I believe in God and he never sleeps !

If I could give zero stars I would ! I brought my 11 month old in with a 106 fever ( she had for a week) 210 heart rate & extremely dehydrated. First we waited in the waiting room for 3 hours even after coming from the ambulance.. secondly the hospital did NOTHING for my child. They said it was a virus after I told them no something is wrong please do more testing … nope we got sent home. Next day my daughter got worse.. I took her too Hartford childrens hospital and guess what? She has double Pneumonia, extreme dehydration & her ear drum ruptured! She’s admitted now & on IV fluids and antibiotics. I can’t believe that.. my daughter could of died because their neglect!!

Valet parking is readily available if you use the 1 Park Street address. For those who wish to park themselves, there is limited on the street metered parking on some of the streets adjacent to the Children's Hospital, but would recommend parking at the Air Rights Garage (run by New Haven Parking Authority) instead, about 2 blocks away at 60 York Street. For Emergency Department patients, validation for valet parking is available, but not for parking garage.
