I often walk past the Christian Spiritualist Temple, particularly during the evening on my way to and from the Main Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library. This church is always closed while I am walking by; however, I regularly recall, with fondness, several events that I have attended there over the years. • "Near Death Experience Presentation," by Nancy Clark [10-29-2014] • "Healing Spirits, Sacred Songs" concert [12-6-2014] • Spiritual Forum at the Christian Spiritualist Temple [6-4-2016] • Spiritual Forum at the Christian Spiritualist Temple [9-3-2016] I understand that most spiritualist communities do not consider themselves to be "Christian"; the Christian Spiritualist Temple, however, does. To quote directly from their website [rather than attempt to describe their perspective in my own words], "We are the largest independent Spiritualist Church in Ohio. Unlike the National Spiritualist Association, we include teachings from the Holy Bible. Using the teachings of Jesus and other Master Teachers as a foundation, we strive to make our beliefs our way of life. We accept each person as an individual example of God's love and power and help them discover and use their own spiritual gifts. We believe in and use spiritual healing, prophecy, and mediumship." The Saturday Spiritual Forum is held on the first Saturday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A $20.00 donation entitles visitors to two or more spiritual readings, energy healing, and lunch. The Christian Spiritualist Temple offers a unique spiritual perspective that is often not found in central Ohio.
