We have been going to Loomis Basin for over 20 years. I’ve always had the upmost confidence in them and I have trusted our pets under their care for many years. Over the last year, things have really changed. Although I believe they have great doctors, they’ve lost sight of the most important thing which is the customer. They don’t return calls, they constantly cancel and reschedule appointments, and they don’t seem to care about the state of your pet or their health. They run 30 to 45 minutes late for appointments, and trying to get a hold of them over the phone is impossible, hold times are 20 minutes or longer. We are very sad that we will have to find a new veterinary and no longer use Loomis Basin.

Doctor Tomlinson and Doctor Jill are absolutely incredible. I trust them completely with my animals’ life. I have met each one of them one time on ER. My pet was stable but her pain was a mystery. They listened fully, investigated every inch of my dog multiple times, and were kind and compassionate to both of us. They gave me more follow up than any doctor ever has. I feel very blessed that Acorn was in their hands.

Over the last two years we have sadly had to put our three beautiful cats down, two as emergencies on a Sunday. Every time, from the phone call to the assistants to the veterinarians, everyone has been totally empathetic to us, so caring and understanding, making a very painful process more bearable. Twice we received sympathy cards after…one signed by all the staff and one with a nice note from the vet Dr Daphne Descollonges, who did not know us at all. I cannot thank you enough for your care, and for being open on Sundays. What a wonderful group.

I have always been a big fan of Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic for so many years. Recently I have been shocked to be on hold for one & two hours at a time & many hours waiting for my dogs to be seen. I have sat in my car for 4 to 6 hours on several occasions waiting for my dogs to be cared for. My heart breaks that this is now the standard at Loomis Basin Vet. As I type this my hold time is 1 hour & 24 minutes as I try to get my new puppy cared for. I have to ask what will it take to overcome this breakdown of what used to be my favorite Veterinarian office. What can be done? Why is there not enough staff to meet the high demand. Our pets and families are impacted in huge negative ways. Life is already challenging enough & now this. I am beside myself with grief & loss of the care of my fur-babies. Update: the most recent care I have received at VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Hospital has improved. I am so grateful for that.

Pet insurance isn't like human insurance, you pay in full at any clinic then take the itemized receipt to your pet insurance and they reimburse you for what they cover

No. Loomis Basin doesn't have a groomer on staff.

My maltese/poodle Masha has a thyroid problem. You have her on a daily medicine. Once a year you say you must do a blood draw. You charge me $292.00. My own yearly blood draw at Kaiser costs $25 for same issue.

That is also because you have insurance through kaiser and lab draws are discounted. When you get your detailed bill take a look at what it would cost you out of pocket. If you had pet insurance with yearly blood draws you couls send in a claim and get some of that cost back.
