The person who owns the place is very nice & have helped many people. The workers however, are very unprofessional. There must not be many requirements to work there. It’s a revolving door of young women at GCH, most of which end up worse off than when they started. Honestly it’s because of the staff.

Not only does Good Counsel give women and children a place to live, they also provide education and training in life skills (parenting, employment, nutrition, health, etc.) empowering women so they are able to care for themselves and their children. They live true compassion and respect. Thank you, Good Counsel!

The home provides loving care to the mother's and child in a way that's extraordinary. It is profoundly necessary that homes like this be created and developed in the us and internationally . Dr philip. Mango Board certified American board of medical psychotherapists

no This is the worst shelter in the Bronx for women with there babies and pregnant women.I’ve heard rumors that the Staten Island location was closed due to poor treatment of the staff and poor living conditions. This program is not acessible for women at all there’s no gain here my advice is just go to PATH.This is a non profit organization that isn’t accessible to women in wheelchairs they have steps only no elevator. From when you arrive the hell starts there with them making up rules. They kick you out if you don’t allow them to search you. They don’t have staff available to bring in your belongings;they watch you bring it in even if your struggling. There’s no food in the fridge or anything to drink but tap water. They ask for 10% of your income to not give it back and they don’t help you look for a apartment they give you (resources)you can find online yourself. The Bronx organization is filled with dust and rats and old staff that are not willing to assist you.At G.C Bronx locatio
