I was very impressed with Heartland Classics, very professional and very attentive during the whole process. We did a lot research before choosing a breeder for our next family member, and Heartland ticked all the boxes and Barb was very kind and responsive to any and all questions I had before even committing to a puppy. Once we did decide to go with a puppy from Heartland and paid out deposit to be placed on a waiting list, we were given frequent updates on where the list stood and who was all ahead of us for the breeds we preferred. It was awesome having this kind of communication during the waiting period, it makes it feel less like a transactional relationship and more like working with somebody who truly cares about what they do. Once our pup was born (Nov. 2021, Coton/Shih Tzu mix), we received bi-weekly updates on his growth progress as well as pictures showing how he was growing. We were also able to provide Barb with a name so they could start familiarizing him with his name before he came home. Awesome small touch! After what seemed like an eternity (10 weeks, but we were excited to get our pup!) we got our little dude and he was perfect! I didn't get a chance to meet Barb at pick up but her husband helped me out and he was great! He even met me outside despite 30 mile per hour wind and it was freezing! I wouldn't have blamed him for staying inside! The pickup process was quick and easy, but I didn't feel at all like I was being pushed out the door. Like I said, it didn't feel "transactional" but like they truly cared. They have a small shop on site where you can pick up any last minute puppy items, it was great because we hadn't got a walking harness for our new pup yet, but Heartland had them in stock! Overall, perfect experience. If/when we get another dog, it'll be from Heartland. I've even suggested them to friends and family, great place and great people.

We knew we wanted a wheaten terrier and began looking for breeders. When researching I came across Heartland Classics. Part of me was apprehensive, wondering if the place was real or not. Thank goodness I went with gut and bought our puppy from them. Barb is amazing. Full of information and extremely pleasant to interact with. We got our pup during Covid but the areas we did see were clean and organized. Now on to our puppy. She is awesome. She is healthy with the best personality and temperament. If the time comes for another wheaten puppy there is not a doubt that I will be going back to heartland!!

The female Coton de Tulear puppy we purchased from Heartland Classics will be turning ten years old soon. I thought this would be a good opportunity to provide a “decade later” review. We could have never anticipated the joy and light that this little dog has brought to our family of five. She is a super sweet and well-mannered dog. From our very first communication ten years ago, Barb provided thoughtful, patient, and effective communication on a very big decision in our lives. Our dog has annual vet visits and has been extremely healthy without any issues. If your family requires a non-shedding, hypoallergenic dog with an exceptional demeanor, I can’t imagine a better choice than a Coton de Tulear. My wife is campaigning to add a second Coton to our family. If we do, it will definitely come from Heartland Classics!
