Went on a Wednesday morning with my kiddos. The beach is sandy and very large, with a nice big swim area as well. However, both are a ways from the parking lot. There are plenty of picnic tables, mostly in good repair, as well as a volleyball net and several large shade trees. The bathroom is a bit of a walk up hill, but generally well maintained. The lake water is rather dirty though, with large clay deposits at the west end of the beach, and a rather mucky bottom. Overall, a nice place, but maybe bring your old suit!

Very nice place to cool off on a hot summer day and have an outdoor BBQ. Plus there are plenty of trails to hike or run, and gravel roads to road within the Waterloo state park. Remember to pack bug spray!

I loved the location and the lake not over crowded. Relaxing and good memories made with the family.
