A while ago I was without a job, could not get any job, not even a grocery store job- and I have a master's degree! It was crazy. I tried to get help and I was treated as a criminal, even asked about my relationship with my bf (and needing him to submit info when I had just met him)?? Like what.. I felt so bad, I did not continue. I got the help of my bf to help pay for food and staying alive which was embarrassing, especially when he barely made a living wage. I'll never forget this time. I finally got healthcare assistance right before I finally got a job, so it was absolutely no help at all. Worst of all, I feel bad for people who had/have it worse than me, with less family or friend support, because they probably end up on the street due to the incompetent Maryland H&HS department.
