My friend and Honorably Discharged Navy Veteran named James passed on July 6, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center. He named me as his Surrogate, and informed me of his final wishes in from of the attending nurse. He spent a months in the morgue at Baptist until I filed a complaint with the city. He was the transfered to Eternity. Liz called me to have me drive to their office, I have a witness, to sign cremation forms. I am then told that the City will not cremate unless a next of kin signs the documents. I recently called an spoke with the Director, who has an attitude problem, and she told me that they believe that they have located s next of kin, that they sent a letter and received no response so they sent a second letter and are still awaiting a reply. James has been at Eternity for about a month now, as today I'd August 31, 2023. Two months in ice for a Veteran is completely unacceptable! My word if advice is to lay out your plans regarding your final wishes legally, and if possible, stay away from the city's indigent cremation services and Eternity Funeral Home at all cost! The have no heart or concern for the deseaced!!! Still no word on this matter! Did I fail to mention that he more than likely has not even been embalmed yet pending the outcome? Also, if I signed the documents for cremation why did Liz later ask me to come in and sign documents to have him buried rather than cremated if there has been no word from family? I told her to have the Mayor sign the documents! Also, note the fact that the person who replied failed to mention their name or position! During my last call with the Director I asked her if they would let me know when he was transferred to the National Cemetery in Jacksonville for burial, she stated "No, you will have to keep calling back!" If that is not heartless I do not know what is! She also did not refute my truthful statements! Update. Receiving a complaint form to file against Eternity Funeral Home today! Update: I emailed them on their website yesterday about possible transfer and burial info. As of 9/27/2022 I have received no reply!

Eternity Funeral Home picked up our nephews Jack Owens body from the hospital without contacting the next of kin. Their funeral home deserves to be SHUT DOWN!!!!! They had NO RIGHT AND NO BUSINESS TOUCHING HIS BODY PERIOD!!!! WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF SOMEONE HANDLED YOUR LOVED ONES IN SUCH A HORRIFIC MANNER!!!! ALWAYS REMEMBER: GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY!!! WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!!!!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about Eternity Funeral Home. My daughter passed in December. Michelle, the funeral director, and Gabby who did our original intake, could not have been more helpful and compassionate during a terrible time. Even after the PO lost my daughters ashes, Michelle was instrumental in navigating the process of getting my daughter back home. I am extremely grateful to Eternity.
