What a phenomenal establishment. So many artists housed under one roof. We could easily have spent most of the day here looking at all the studios. Think diverse art museum with the ability to talk to the artists and purchase pieces directly from them. There are THREE floors of studios. Don't ruin your opportunity to find a golden nugget in the 2nd or 3rd floors. It was also inspiring to see some of the artists actively working on new pieces in the spaces.

Deri is so sweet and talented. Absolutely loved working a wedding here. The venue is so easy to work with and so extremely volatile. Deri is knowledgeable beyond reason and passionate about making the couple's day as smooth as possible.

Fun to browse through Free admission About 100 individual galleries - a mix of quality from artist to artist (a bit lower overall than I was expecting, though there are a handful of shining stars) Note that many stalls shut on Tuesday & Wednesday, when maybe 50% are open (though one can still see in to the closed shops) Worth visiting if in the area, but doesn’t warrant a special trip in and of itself.

It was nice. Very expensive but the artist do need to make a living. Unique items!

You should be able to check the website for an updated list of vendors and exhibition artists.
Torpedo Factory Art Center is owned and operated by the City of Alexandria. It is a special revenue fund and all staff salaries, janitorial services, exhibitions, programs, etc. are self-funded within the City's budget. The City provides capital upkeep of the building. More information can be found in the FAQ here: http://torpedofactory.org/faq.
There are probably 25. You can find the list on the website.
Contact the administrative office at the location; lots of the artists display collectively in the galleries.
The supply store is managed by The Art League, which is a lease-holding nonprofit tenant of the Art Center. You can find current information their store and its hours via https://www.theartleague.org/about/location-hours/.
There are no lots associated with the Art Center. You can find information about parking via our website here: http://torpedofactory.org/visit/parking-accomodations/.
There is free, 2 hour street parking adjacent to founders park, however, these spots fill up quickly. The Torpedo Factory itself has no parking associated with it. There is limited free parking in nearby residential areas but it is limited to 2 hours.
The nearest metro would be King St-Old Town Metro. From there you can take the Old Town Trolly (FREE RIDE) to Torpedo Factory.
The Torpedo Factory Art Center is closed for New Year's Day, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. All other days the Art Center is open. Check for today's hours for early closures or for weather-related hours. http://torpedofactory.org/todays-hours/
People can walk their dogs through there. If that's what you mean.
All current opportunities to show work are posted on the Art Opps page. http://torpedofactory.org/artopps.
All artists are listed online. You should be able to look that up easily.
No there isn't. The closest Art-O-Mat in Old Town is at District Taco on Washington Street.
I would recommend either the website or visit and talk to other artists.
