Large nursery with beautiful flowers and shrubs. Prices appeared to match what you'd expect. Large selection. Really helpful staff when we called with questions and when we were in the store.

I have been wanting to trek out to Longfellow's for the longest time and finally got the chance to and I was NOT disappointed! Wonderful selection, the staff is so nice and helpful, and we can't wait to come back!

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have a 1 year warranty on trees and they willingly replaced a tree that I bought over a month ago...even though it probably died because of the weather (not the nursery itself).

Longfellow's has a great variety of plants for every season. They have a higher quality of stock than what most places in this area keep. They pride themselves on having a knowledgeable staff able to answer all your questions. They offer lots of helpful services too!

Hi Jan. No, we dont have any window boxes for sale. Lots of other pots and containers. 😀

When should ferti-lome be applied to azaleas in fall? Also should Cotton Burr compost be added then as well? Should Wilt-Pruf be applied in early or late November?

Connie Waller | Apr 20, 2021
Longfellow's Garden Center (Owner) | Apr 21, 2021

Fertilizer should not be applied until spring. Any type of compost can be added at any time. And wilt pruf is applied in early November. Thanks for checking in with us much of this information can be found under the Garden Calendar on the website.

Is it too late to transplant perennials now in the garden?

Would you happen to have a gooseberry plant around anymore? One says to plant in fall and other in spring.... Any zinnia seeds or plants?

MaryJ Hueste | Apr 20, 2020
Alice Longfellow | Apr 21, 2020

Hi Mary, We are sold out of gooseberry plants. It is fine to plant in either spring or fall. We are fortunate in Missouri to have two planting/growing seasons. Check with us again in September to see if we got any more in. We do have some Profusion Zinnias in orange and white. We also have the traditional zinnia in 8" party pots (meant to grow in one clump to add color to deck or fill a spot in the garden). We have seed but not sure that you have time for that to work. Please let us know how we an help. -Alice

Do you have Blue Prince Holly for sale?

Marilyn Watson-Mcguire | Apr 21, 2019
Longfellow's Garden Center (Owner) | Apr 22, 2019

We do not have Blue Prince Holly right now. It is a variety we often stock. Can we make arrangements to get it in for you? To be honest, lately we've been carrying Blue Twins or Blue Duet Holly which has both male and female plants in the same pot. Are you needing just the male or would you consider the Twins or Duet? Please let us know how we can help. -Alice 573-584-9611

I was at Longfellows on Mother's Day and employees were very busy. I was looking for Flowering Quince. I left my name in case you might get more in. Is that a possibility? Another thing I am looking for is Blue Daze, do you have any in. Thanks

Hi Barbara, Stacey has the note that you are looking for the flowering quince. I will ask her tomorrow about the status of adding that to one of our orders. I'm sorry we had so much trouble on Sunday and we do appreciate your patience. Also, we do have the Blue Daze.

What time do you open? What days are you open? What months are you open?
