Hi Cecelia...I attend Mass very regularly at St Joseph. Yes, it is permitted. I would say I see 2-3 people consistently each week who receive Our Lord directly on their tongue, but only occasionally do I see someone receive on their knees. But I've certainly seen it happen. My 5th grade son started genuflecting before receiving communion several months ago, just something he wanted to do, and no one has told him to stop that. It is a wonderful parish on believers and I could not imagine anyone would give you a hard time, esp. since your intent is to personally show your love and reverence of Jesus! We certainly welcome and encourage everyone to attend Mass. All are welcome! God Bless!
