Always a great time at Sherwood. The staff there are the best.

Good parking, very pretty. Quite and calming. Playground and shelter for parties. Plenty of sites. Showers and boatlaunch. Most sites have electric and some running water.

What a great campground! The sites a spacious and most all of them have a bunch of trees separating them. We will definitely make this one of our regular places to go.

Honestly, I have not camped there for over 35 years. Spent many a evening as a teenager there. Camped a few times in a pup tent. I still go there about once or twice a year to drive through. The camping is great. Nice quiet family place. Even when we were teens, we tried to not bother others. A variety of sites to camp in. Some are open and others are wooded. Electric at all but 2 spots. No running water in the sites, so fill your tank ahead of time. There is water if you have a tank to put it in. They didn't have the dump station nor showers when I was a kid. They do now. I have not used the newer showers so can't speak to them. I have used the newer bathrooms and much better than the old pit toilets! There is a dump station now too. The lake is small and shallow. You can walk all the way across without getting your head wet. Except maybe 5 feet wide where the channel is about 3/4 of the way across. Swimming was fun as a kid, but when we got older, we realized the shallow swim area was not as fun. They did put a lot of sand there though. I have to mention it was allowed to dry out a few years ago. I am not sure if the swim area was repaired after that. We used to swim beyond the dam at the "old dam". The water there was over your head so much better swimming. I heard they blocked that area off now, but have not walked back there to know. The pavilion is great. Had a family reunion there a few years ago. There is a small playground for kids too. I may be biased since I grew up there, but I still like the place and find it a nice place even just to drive through and look around. I really need to spend a weekend camping there again! The only down side may be that there is nothing anywhere near close! For getting away from everything, that is good. If you like to go out for dinner while camping, you will drive a while to find anything. There is a bar not too far away for burgers and a Friday fish fry. Not much else. It is located at a dead end road and it is about 4 miles from the highway. Again, that is either a good thing or bad thing depending on what you prefer.
