Stayed there while visiting family for Thanksgiving. Easy to make reservations, flexible check in time, no cancellation fees. Room was clean, linens felt new/fresh. Bed was comfortable. Great customer service. We left a sweatshirt behind; called later in the day not expecting to be found and yes the sweat shirt had been turned in at the office. Will stay agin.

Staff seemed nice but the rooms were extremely outdated and expensive for the quality. The shower would either scald me or freeze me so definitely not a comfortable shower experience before bed… it was so touchy that I didn’t even want my younger son to take a shower cause I was nervous that he might burn himself. They definitely take advantage of being the motel in a small town price wise. No complimentary breakfast either, which would have been great if they offered something. Just basic cable so kinda boring to stay in the room. Definitely need to entertain yourself outside in the county and the lil Sparta town was cute.

Felt pretty lucky for stumbling upon this place. We roadtrip and usually find ourselves with the choice of overpriced chain hotels or little motels with bad reviews. This gem was not far off the Blue Ridge Parkway that we’re traveling on. The room had a nice bed, strong hot shower, and even good coffee. It’s your typical motel room setup but Very clean. We’ve stayed in “historic” hotels that weren’t this clean. The other guests seemed to be travelers as well and not the “pay by the week” variety. The price was low and fair. The young man at the counter was courteous and polite. The air conditioner was cold and the room was quiet. What more could you ask for.

Surprisingly excellent vintage motel in good condition, kept up well. Friendly, hospitable staff. Classic, no frills motel room with good beds. Clean bathroom, sheets and towels. Included mini fridge and small coffee maker. No problems with road noise at night, but the town wakes up at 6:30 AM so be ready. If you’re touring the Blue Ridge Parkway, it’s a good overnighter stop.
