The person at the Pittsburg airport gave away my sedan rental to the person in-line in front of me, and only had a van to offer for the same rate... I asked to upgrade and the person was not willing to help waive the fee nor willing to see if anything else was available. The van I received ended up broken down with 2 warning lights on, and literally did not function. I had to deal with multiple Avis agents to get support. Eventually, once all settled and promised it was going to be taken care, I had to call the tow truck company to ask if they were coming, 90-minutes AFTER the 180 minute window. They said Avis should have called... I called Avis and was transferred multiples times, and got a flippant person that said that "oops they should have called, and it was unprofessional". But no effort was made to fix it that day, I had to wait till the next day to get the tow and a new rental. VERY frustrating experience.

Top to bottom an easy and enjoyable experience. Everyone was friendly and professional, and responsive. The vehicles are very clean, comfortable, perform well and start the trip out on the right foot. Thank you.

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love Avis! Except for this female employee at this location . Worse customer service EVER. If it weren’t for the gentleman that took over and treated me the way I’m usually treated as a Preferred Plus Member I would be giving this location if I could 0 stars. This Avis employee refused to help me , give me information on my avis account and refused to answer any questions I had at the time of pick up. The only answer she gave me was I don’t know. Stared at me and then aggressively said she wasn’t going to do this and she wasn’t going to help me unless I gave her a new credit card . She also said “you can go somewhere else I don’t care “ . And proceeded to close the sliding glass window , picked up her cell phone and started scrolling. I rent cars almost every week from Avis and I travel every month out of CA for ice hockey, since both my boys play in leagues that require a lot of travel out of state. All this happened at the Preferred Member counter. The young lady at the General counter was nicer than this woman. The gentleman working along side her at least took the time to look into the situation and so I felt comfortable enough giving him a new credit card for the deposit since I always prepay my rentals . When we got to the car which ended up being too small for our ice hockey needs , we found that the car was absolutely filthy both inside and out. I asked the gentleman if I could please upgrade to something bigger I didn’t mind paying for the upgrade but before I could even finish my sentence he said I’ll take care of it. Im sorry about the incident earlier I called I guess their helpline and they explained exactly why I could not use my original credit card on file. I had an open reservation back home in other words I also had an open rental reservation in CA that was using my credit card on file for that deposit. You can’t have 2 deposits on the same credit card. That’s all that woman had to do. Atleast try , make something up if you Have to but don’t be rude, unprofessional and dismissing because remember Miss Employee that also refused to give me her name . YoU are AVIS when you sit behind that counter and I know that they would be embarrassed to see how you behaved that day.

Just show your original reservation and explain the delay. They adjusted for same rate for me after a delay.

Is this at the airport . Due they shuttle or need a ride to get car
