We paid over $300 for this room. There was no mattress pad, the chair was frayed and dirty and the bathroom floor had a dirty footprint. Where I'm from and after traveling in Florida, this room would have cost no more than $70. Michigan has been one of the most overpriced places I have ever traveled to. I could have stayed in Florida for three weeks what it has cost me here for 6 days.

I used to live in Indian River, and knew this was a Holiday Inn Express. It was so nice! I was excited to stay here when I went back to visit family over Christmas, but the place has fallen apart. First, there were nails sticking through the edge of the carpet, so we all had to wear shoes if we were walking around the room. I have a one year old, so that was lots of fun. Next, there was no cord to the phone, so we couldn't call for anything if we wanted to. We had a jacuzzi suite and the handle for the water was detached and just left sitting on the side of the Jacuzzi. It wouldn't stay on and you had to jam it into place to turn on the water and then put it back on the side. The mat for the Jacuzzi was moldy and ripped. The absolute worst thing about the Jacuzzi though was when my husband and I were in it relaxing and this brown, mucousy substance floated by. I grabbed a towel and got it out, but it was obviously some sort of bodily fluid. We went down and asked the guy at the front desk if the jets were cleaned regularly and he said no. We asked for them to be cleaned while we were out and he offered us the cleaning solution to do it ourselves since they didn't have housekeeping. We refused and told him that was not our job. He said he would do it, but when we came back, it was obvious nothing had been done. Finally, there were crusty, white stains on the carpet that were disgusting. We spent hardly no time as the room because of how disgusting it was. They refused to switch rooms or refund any of our money. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

The room was very comfortable and clean. A quiet and restful night. So nice to have a true breakfast in the morning. The staff was excellent along with the rate. We will stay here again in the future.

No heat in our room Harry says he is not able to fix. He refuses to call the maintenance guy or the owner to have it fixed. He says there is no other room, he refused to bring us any more blankets. Very horrible customer service.

They usually do give senior discount and you would have to call Hometown direct to see about non smoking rooms. Thanks
