I have called the shelter so many times to get into the shelter casue I'm homeless and they denieing me over and over again say I don't meet the requirements how is this possible when I'm homeless and living outside but they r suppose to be an emergency shelter and help people like me , I never known of a shelter that doesn't help people or even try to give them resources to get help and I live in there area too but they got so much funding and this isn't the first time I ask for there help either it's said when u really need assistance and knowing they help everyone else but can't help someone who really needs it but yet u r suppose to be an emergency shelter for my area

The local library gives us many books, so at this time we are not accepting more due to storage space.
We are a homeless shelter for people. Our guests cannot bring pets into shelter with them.
If there are kits that our guests might be able to do, that would be great.
Proof mail or not we are all out own guardians of legal age or 18 or older correct. They'll get bak to you as soon as they can, have faith, patience is a virtue.
Most homeless shelters in the Chicagoland area have a residency requirement. The only 2 that do not have that requirement are Rockford Rescue Mission in Rockford, IL and Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. IF you are looking for a hotel or hostel in the area, that would be a different story and goggling ones in the area would be your best bet.
Yes You get your own locker. Yes. You can work. Call to set up appointment. Was pretty fast for me. Hope this helps.
We do not have a clothes closet at Lazarus House due to space constraints. Rdeemer Fellowship Church in St. Charles and Batavia Clothes Closet take clothing donations.
If you want to buy items, go to their website and you can find urgent needs. You can make a donation. If you want something more substantial like volunteering, there is a volunteer coordinator that can help.
Yes
We do not have available space for animals in shelter.
Not sure. The best thing is to calk
I was a resident there and I was treated with respect. When I was there I worked, they help me find a apartment and help me with a few problems that I have been having,, Steve and his wife have been removed and don't work here anymore Everybody Is Treated Equally. Stop on by a see how it's running now before passing judgement On a place that helps people out. Marcos Rutter
We are a shelter that serves men, women and children. So the answer is that it depends on the offense. Also, they must have a community connection to our service area.
I have checked with our case managers and at this time we cannot utilize the Dreamhouse. Thanks so much for thinking of us.
We do administer some grants for that purpose. There are specific qualifications set by the grantor, so it often depends on if the person qualifies based on the grant. We also serve a specific part of Kane County. This is Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles and western, rural Kane County. Please call us directly if you think that you may benefit from one of our programs.
We have a service area in Kane County. This area includes Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles and western rural Kane County. Connection can be previously living in area, current employment in area OR a direct family member that lives in service area.
Please check out our Urgent needs page on our website. We updates it regularly. https://lazarushouse.net/urgent-needs/
We do not take furniture donations. For any guests that we have that move to their own apartment, we call Re-Home Center and they come in and furnish the apartment with items that have been donated. You can look them up online or call them at 331.222.9209
People are instructed to donate to Goodwill or the salvation army
