Extremely frustrated with the evaluation interview/process at Eastgate. Our impression was that the Nursing Director was looking for an excuse NOT to admit my sister, who would be moving from another assisted living facility that she has been at for 3 years. This was a completely different impression from what we received from the Admissions person after 2 visits to the facility, who identified an apartment, etc. Although this facility claims to be for assisted living residents and is funded by the state to do this, the screening process was to determine how independent a person was, so that they would require the LEAST amount of assistance. If your loved one needs assistance, stay away from this place! They are very deceptive and we were completely blindsided by the Nursing Director and Executive Director's denial of admittance.

My mom recently celebrated her 1 year anniversary. She has enjoyed her experience much better than her Tower Hill of Elgin experience. Better Covid management and much better living facilities.

Kudos to Eastgate for doing a fabulous job during this pandemic. Also, it's a beautiful and very clean facility and the best caring staff. No better place for my mom.
